Laser Mouse Notebooks

Is there anyway to keep my wireless mouse from freezing my computer on startup?

When I start up my computer, if I have my mouse plugged into a USB port the computer will crash before the OS boots. If I plug the mouse in after the OS has booted it works fine, and from what I can tell my computer crashes before it goes into the boot order, so changing the BIOS doesn't help.

The mouse is a Microsoft Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 6000 and I have the most recent drivers I could locate.

And my computer is:
AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core Processor 4600+
Vista Home Premium
2.00 GB Ram
Radeon x1900 GT

I have personally seen enough quirky behavior from microsoft mouses (sic) that I refuse to buy them anymore.

Logitech is the way to go. I have never had any of the trouble with them.

Also, could be a quirk of the BIOS. I have 3 Thinkpads that will not boot up if a USB device is plugged in. 3 different models. 4 other models boot fine no matter what is plugged into the usb ports.

Does this mouse work on another computer?

Need help fixing my laptops keyboard.?

my sis accidently broke a keyboard key of the laptop. the key is working fine,but the button is out of its place. can anyone tell me how to fix it ?. just in case its a toshiba tecra 8100.

With some laptops the key simply can be "pushed" back into place.
Lightly apply pressure down and see if the key will click back. Do not force as I wouldn't want to whole key to break.

If this does not work I'm sure you can go to a pc shop and get it fixed for a couple of quid/dollars.

What does it mean when a the screen of a notebook turns black after being turned on?

I just got a dell xps notebook about 3 weeks ago, i tried to turn it on, was going as it normally would, then after i typed in my password to get on to the actuall desktop, the screen turned black. what does this mean and what can i do?

Maybe.... hold down the Function key "Fn" and press F4 [it's F4 for my laptop.. it should have the little symbol for the monitor on it]

That toggles between external and laptop screen usage. I had that problem when I attached an external. That could be it??
