Why do people stick gum in odd places? Its really gross!?

My name is Phil.

Just before I sat down at this computer, my hand happened to brush the underside of my school computer's keyboard slider thingy.

To my disgust, I actually TOUCHED another person's piece of chewed gum.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

I mean, seriously, theres a trashcan less than three feet away. Do people do this simply to annoy others, or are they actually THAT lazy?

This sick conumer-society seems to have an attitude of "I can do what I want, its a free country" and "I want, thus I deserve".

Maybe I should move to Singapore where they have fines and prison sentences to anyone caught with gum.

I'm sick and tired of always finding gum under desks, computers, chairs, tables, counters and even the church pews I sit on every Sunday.

Why do people do this? Should gum be banned, should Canada adopt laws similar to Singapore's?
Uck, you shouldn't place it on mailboxes either.

yes people are lazy. they cant be botherd to get of their lazy arses to walk a few meters, not even that to a bin!

But the cleaning of delicate parts such a motherboard etc. should not be done with a piece of cloth at all, even if it is a dry one. Improve Your Habits : Like a human being , even your computer can be sensitive and allergic to many things. For example, don't force your computer to go for passive smoking. Also, beware from giving it something to drink and eat. Definitely, it eats up some amount of power only. Thus while smoking and eating/drinking something always maintain a safe distance. Keyboard Key not Working right!?

I am from the UK, and everything on my keyboard works fine except for a few keys. The most annoying is the pound sign displays # instead. And pressing shift then 2 gives me @. For the @ button, it gives me " for some reason. That's about it. Is it the Country the keyboard's assigned to? The computer monitor had some trouble changing to different modes (I have an LCD TFT that has digital and analogue modes), but the other users' keys are fine, it's just my user name. Can someone please help????
Update: This keyboard has worked fine before, the change happened when the TFT mode on the monitor went bonkers but it's ok now. the language is English UK. Weird. The keyboard is a USB do I need to install it again? I'm using XP.

What does S-Video mean on a camcorder?

I'm borrowing my sister's camcorder to record my son's Christmas program, and there is an outlet thing on the back that looks kind of like the plug-in for a keyboard or mouse for a computer. It's labeled "S-Video"

What does that mean?
Oh, yeah. It uses the tapes, so I don't THINK it's digital.
So, it wouldn't allow me to hook it up to the computer, though, would it?

s-video is just another way to plug your camcorder into another device like a dvd player or home theatre system.
It is a special plug that allows you to interract the camcorder other than av cables.
Some home theatre systems etc don't have the room for more av cables and put s-video plugs to allow you to expand further.
They work in the same way as av plugs except that instead of numerous cables you only need one for audio visual surround etc...
Nothing daunting though as you can buy these cables as readily as you can buy av cables.

Part of our everyday lives, computers have evolved from a tool at work to a personal calendar, a friendly network facilitator and a necessary guide. Although computers have transformed the way we see things and understand the world around us, because their use imposes physical and mental demands on their users, it leads to several health problems, like Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSIs), eye strain, neck and lower back pains and headaches.

I do not about you, but when I bought a year ago my brand new laptop, I was extremely interested in reading everything included in the package in an effort to take good care of my precious new possession. One of the documents the producer have included in the printed materials I opened to read, was one that directed me to follow specific guidelines on how to effectively and safely use my portable PC. Perhaps I was very lucky, as I later discovered that only recently have manufacturers been forced to include such user guides, or began making an effort to overcome health related issues and complains by introducing ergonomic products and warning labels on some equipment. This is very important, as the designers' ability to understand that users need simple guidelines in order to be adequately informed of the risks involved and trained on proper body posture, monitor height, elbows distance from the body or recommended hours of use, can prevent computer users, even young, physically active individuals, from suffering in the future.

Specifically, one has to be aware of the hazards of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) to the hands and arms resulting from inappropriate use of the computer's keyboard and mice. People in a variety of professions, like musicians or chiropractics, who repeatedly exercised pressure on their hands, shoulders, and arms, and have injured their tendons, muscles, and nerves, have been reported as the first cases of RSIs victims. Unfortunately, the list is increasing today, as more and more computer users request medical treatments in order to overcome the symptoms of RSIs on their hands, wrists, arms, shoulders and necks. Medical professionals and patients have reported that tightness, discomfort, stiffness, soreness or burning, numbness, and loss of coordination or strength are the most common symptoms linked to RSIs.

Since this serious painful situation is far easier to prevent than to cure once contracted, it is important for people to be educated and understand when and how RSIs can occur leaving ex-computer users permanently disabled and unable to perform simple tasks, such as driving or even dressing, without requesting help. Ergonomic gadgets, palm rests, maintaining the right posture and overall good working habits can reduce the risks associated with computer use and help young users understand how important it is to be always on alert for RSIs symptoms.

Can I hook up my PS3 wireless keyboard to my HP computer to use.?

I was wondering if i could hoop up my wireless keyboard(logitech) to the Hp to uses a regular computer like typing (not to play ps3 on the computer!)

What kind of wireless keyboard is that?

If you have the wireless keyboard with a USB dongle then then yes.

If you have the bluetooth wireless keyboard then you probably need to buy a bluetooth receiver for your HP computer

Ps3 Consoles - The Lexus Of Game Consoles

I can't speak specifically fro the 80 gig but I know what the hardware differences are and I can address them.

The most important thing is games. At first, it was hard to make a case for the Playstation with so few exclusives, but now, most of the big third party releases are multi-platform and the PS3 Consoles has just as many exclusives as the 360. If you just can't live without Halo or Gears of War, then the PS3 Consoles can't help you just as much as the 360 can't help you with Little Big Planet or Metal Gear Solid 4. I have noticed that some games do look better on the 360 but the difference is really negligible, and I feel the other advantages far outweigh this.

Of the PS3 Consoles games, I recommend Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, Warhawk, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Grand Theft Auto IV.

As far as Downloadable games, there are some really solid innovative titles. PixelJunk Monsters is as addictive as tower defense games go but also really beautiful and mesmerizing. If you have a good 1080p hdtv you will appreciate the intricate detail in such a simple game. Echochrome is also a really innovative puzzle game. I also enjoy Operation creature feature as a good game to show friends who are less into games. There are many others and almost all have a free demo so you can try it out.

These downloads are all available via the playstation network which is the great online component of PS3 Consoles. Before the PS3 Consoles I had never done online gaming, my computer was too slow and I didn't want to pay online fees or for extra peripherals. The PS3 Consoles made it really easy to connect to the PSN. I just set the wifi to connect to my router (all current models of the PS3 have built in Wifi) and since it's free, I didn't hesitate to sign up. I know most people talk about the PSN being inferior to Xbox Live but I don't know what more I could ask for, I can play games online, set up a buddy list, send messages and pictures, chat with or without video, download movies, demos, trailers and full games. I don't really care to do social networking through my game console but if you like, the much delayed playstation home is supposed to provide a virtual space to meet and chat using 3d avatars. My only complaint in the PSN is that the download speed seems pretty slow.

All of the non-gaming features are accessed through the xrossmedia bar which is extremely easy and intuitive to use.

Now for the media connectivity. It's awesome! The model I have has a built in card reader, but with the new models, you can purchase the PS3 Consoles Media Hub+ which will not only add 2 USB ports but also a Memory Card Reader. I always use the PS3 Consoles to show family pictures and slideshows, it's fast and easy to use and you can rotate and zoom on the fly. It's just as easy to watch movies from your digital cameras, and listening to MP3s from a CD or flash drive is enhanced by some great visualizers.

The PS3 Consoles is pretty forgiving with peripherals, I have a Mac Keyboard hooked up to it and a Jabra bluetooth headset. The hard drive can easily be switched out with one from any company as long as its the right size. The system itself will guide you through the swap out process. the controller is the same great layout from Playstation 2 with an added home button, and R2 and L2 have become triggers. I recently bought RealTriggers which help but I used it for a year an a half without.

I can't say enough about how awesome Blu-ray is. I hear a lot of people talking about upscaled DVD being just as good, but if you ever see any blu-ray on a 1080p screen, you can appreciate the difference. The image is so clean and crisp, even the sound is noticeably better. The jump in image quality is jaw dropping. I especially recommend Transformers, 300, Casino Royale, Spider-Man 3, Planet Earth, and Sunshine [Blu-ray] as great films to Showcase the Blu-rays capabilities. That being said, the PS3 Consoles's DVD upscaling is also good. If you've ever played a DVD on a PS2, the same controls apply. Fast forward, rewind, skip, play, stop are all easy, it's just a shame there's no dedicated top menu button.

Overall, this system is great. A bit pricey but totally worth the cost (especially compared to 360 plus the added price of online fee and overpriced proprietary peripherals). An essential part of any modern home theater system.

Hard Drive Update:
I just upgraded the hard drive on my PS3 from 60 to 250 gigs. It could not have been easier. I purchased a Seagate Momentus 5400.4 ST9250827AS - Hard drive - 250 GB - internal - 2.5" - SATA-300 - 5400 rpm - buffer: 8 MB. I chose seagate because of the price and because PS3 comes with a seagate by default but any brand should do. C-net has a great step by step tutorial on the specifics of hard drive swap. Other than backing up my data and restoring it (I used a separate external hard drive) the swap out process itself took less than 10 minutes.

Now I'm downloading PSN games willy nilly and don't have to worry about running out of space.

an interesting side note, you can use any external hard drive that is formatted FAT32.
