Computer Keyboard Piano Program
Computer Keyboard Piano Program
How can I connect my piano keyboard to my computer using the parallel port?

I have a converter from midi to the serial port (fastlane midi interface). My keyboard is plugged into the midi cord and the parallel port to the computer, but nothing is happening. I've looked all over for drivers and programs that would recognize the parallel port but nothing is there for midi to parallel conversion. The only ports on the converter are midi and a small round port that is used for the cord that goes to the parallel(still long one).

you are right you need a driver bit not for the midi to parallel.
you need one for the keyboard to be recognised by the pc.

However, the problem that comes up is the fact that not everyone who wants to be an expert pianist has a piano in their home to practice on. The best solution is to utilize the virtual pianos available to download on the computer. Using these virtual pianos you can play a piano on the computer just using your keyboard or your mouse.

To play a piano on the computer you need to do some things first. The first thing you need to do is download a piano software. Once you find a piano software to use and download it you should install the software on your PC. Most of the softwares available once you install it the keyboard will appear automatically.

To help you get better playing the piano on your computer you should practice playing with your computer keyboard. You should know that different letters on your computer keyboard will relate to the keys on the virtual keyboard.

You will need to determine which letters correspond with which piano key. Once you can make this determination you'll be able to play the virtual piano in a similar way to a real piano. You should also practice playing with the mouse of your computer. Some people find it easier to play each key separately with the mouse of their computer. Gaming Mouse
Gaming Mouse
Whats the pint of a gaming keyboard and mouse?

I have a logitech G9 lasser mouse and a logitech Wave Keyboard and i was wondering if there a good for gamming? whats the point of gaming mouse keyboard
like somthing bout extra senstivity and more prisise for mouse but what more can the keyboard offer, whats a gamming keyboard like? and also would gamming keyboard/mouse be good for just regular desktop use? thnaks;)

Gaming mice such as your G9 are good for gaming because of their high accuracy and the ability to adjust sensitivity on the fly. This can really help in certain games. Other features of gaming mice include having lots of buttons, which can be customized to have certain functions in game, and customizable weight.

Gaming keyboards are popular because they usually have many function keys which can be customized for in game function just like the gaming mouse, and can sometimes be used to program macros. Gaming keyboards sometimes light up also for late night gaming sessions.

Both of these items can still be good for regular desktop use because the extra functionality can be used for just about anything you can imagine, they just appeal to gamers more than anything, and so they are marketed as such.

No Gaming Mouse for Kewin

Kewin got the new gaming pc, a wide flat screen display, wireless keyboard,  loads of cola's , but still having same OLD MOUSE . Poor kewin! Online gaming is becoming more competitive these days; kewin would surely like to take an advantage of every available opportunity to gain a edge over his foes... Feel like kewin , then switch to new genre of gaming that is "Gaming Mouse". It is specially designed for those spent 18 hrs with pc games in vacations.  There are various options available, but there are only handfuls of brands which we can recommend. Let us go with the best ergonomics and sensor technology available in gaming mouse.

LOGITECH G5 (2nd version): It adds a second thumb button on left side. A smooth plastic is replaced by grippy black and blue crack lines. There are adjustment buttons to switch on-the-fly between 400, 800 & 2000 DPI. It also has the removable weight cartridge that slides into bottom.  With Logitech setpoint, one can reset the specific button for specific function of windows.  People who have broad and lengthy palms find it uncomfortable. Gaming Mouse will range from rs 2500- rs 4000.

MICROSOFT SIDE WINDER: It starts with the standard function with right and left clicks with scroll wheel, the wheel doesn't tilt but it gets depressed as a button click.  There are three buttons to change the DPI settings.  Each button lights up via LED. It also has a small LCD screen which shows the current DPI settings. Bottom is plain with smooth surface in red color. It has 3 changeable mice feet.  Gaming mouse is as light as 5g - 10 g. There is unusual thumb button which is out of reach for some. It will cost rs 3250-rs 4750.

So by now kewin has adopted a GAMING MOUSE. What about you?

How can i play CALL Of DUTY 4 [PC] using a Gamepad/ PC controller/ Joystick

I not comfortable playing a first person shooter game on a keyboard. So dont tell me that its alot better playing on a KB. Im using an Alienware Compatible Controller. Any Programs i shud use? Please Help

It really IS better on a keyboard. Much easier to map controls to 100+ keys than say 20 buttons on a controller, but I'll help you anyway. As far as I can tell, there isn't an option in CoD4 for using anything but the kb/mouse setup. Sorry.

Since the humble beginnings of video gaming, input devices have been many and varied. "Pong" used joysticks. "Duck Hunt" used a gun. Gaming inputs have evolved over the years, but the concept remains the same. In today's multi-billion dollar computer gaming industry, what device will perform the best for your gaming needs? For most general applications, there are arguably two choices: Joystick or Gamepad.

Generally speaking, a consumer's choice in this split decision should be based primarily on the applications for which it is involved. For example, a gamepad might not be too shabby for a flight simulator, but if you really want to experience an in-depth simulation, such that you would find in a Jane's game for example, a joystick is the tool for you. Let's look now, comparatively, at the strengths and weaknesses of each device.

The Joystick

In the early days of gaming, joysticks were little more than their name; a platform, a stick on an x-y axis, and (if you were lucky) a button or two. Today's joysticks are, of course, varied in their complexity, but mostly include at least four buttons (minimally!), a "Point-of-View Hat" atop the stick - allowing for more customized input, and possibly a throttle. Many of today's joysticks are complex enough to be able to control a game on their own, but others rely on the nature of the joystick itself allowing the gamer to use another hand on the keyboard. Applications generally recommended for joystick use: Flight Simulators, Vehicular Combat Games

The Gamepad

More of a jack-of-all-trades than the joystick, the gamepad is very versatile in the applications in which it excels. Most gamepads today resemble console video game system controllers, specifically Sony Playstation or Microsoft Xbox controllers. In fact, a number of PC gamepads can be connected and used with console systems! Gamepads are meant to be used with two hands and generally include eight to twelve buttons, a few small thumb-sized joysticks, and a directional-pad not much different from those seen on the NES. Specifically, gamepads are good for: Sports Games (especially Electronic Arts brand), Top-down Action Games, and some Third-person Role-playing Games.

The Rundown

In summary, you should select your input device based on your gaming needs. For the most part, those interested in flying should choose a joystick, and all others should choose a gamepad. As an added incentive for gamepad users, many PC games which begin on game consoles and get "ported" to the computer integrate seamlessly with a gamepad. A great example of this is EA Sports games, which holds a near monopoly on sports games as of 2008, which are almost always released on console before they come to the PC. In a pinch, gamepads aren't really that bad at flight sims either, to tell the truth. Joysticks are just better.

In the end, it comes down to what you enjoy the most. After all, we're playing video games, not video work.

Those who have been quite a fan themselves when it comes to aircraft games, knows how long has flight simulators existed in the gaming industry. With the help of the newly released simulation system and software such as Flight Simulator 2006, enhancements of the whole gaming experience has been brought about for enthusiasts to enjoy.

Even if this game has been available for more than a decade now, there are still a lot of flight simulator fanatics who indulge themselves with this kind of gaming activity time after time. Knowing that you can get enhancements from one version to another makes it one exciting way to go on with this hobby for as long as you want. What makes it more enjoyable is that because of today's innovation with aircraft simulators, you are now capable of experiencing flying as if it was the real thing.

The features of an aircraft gaming software such as the flight Simulator 2006 progressed from the ordinary flight destination game to a sophisticated training ground for flying and navigating various aircrafts. With these newer versions, one can easily switch from one training aircraft to another by just selecting it from a control panel or launcher feature of the flight software itself.

Aside from indulging yourself with better graphics which resembles scenery in real life, you can also synchronize your gaming time with the real world time. So let's say you are to travel to a specific location around the world, whatever time zone it is as of that moment, is the same times zone that you will be experiencing while you are playing.

The more realistic an aircraft simulator could be the more dun it is to continue playing. Of course the closer you get to the real thing, the more sophisticated your navigating tasks would be. These latest versions of simulators includes support for certain hardware and devices that may enhance your gaming experience when it comes to navigating various aircrafts such as Beechcrafts, Cessnas, Lockheeds, Supermarines and other aircrafts.

These devices would include yokes, pedals, switches, throttles and other hardware to make you feel as if you are really flying an aircraft yourself. The most important thing to get access to this is to be able to get the right software that is capable of supporting such hardware and has more detailed enhancements when it comes to flying. With enough understanding on what your options are, you will surely get hold of that flight simulator that can offer you the best experience in flying.

Rest assured, I have tested out nearly every Flight Sim on the market today, and I have found one which I can personally recommend.

Stop wasting your money and time on disappointing flight simulators. I have put them all through the test and after hundreds of flying hours I have finally found a winner and I can guarantee it will be the closest you will get to a Real Life Flying experience without actually leaving your house.
